Since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza, many influencers and celebrities have lost their jobs just to declare their solidarity with the victims of the aggression, who have exceeded 10,<> people - so far - most of them women and children.

The latest to be subjected to such a measure is French activist of Palestinian origin, Rima Hassan, as L'Oréal, a global cosmetics company, suspended its membership in the Foundation's Global Advisory Board on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Hassan said on her Instagram account on Sunday, November 5, 2023, that she had been censoring herself for a long time to get what she wanted to get professionally, but later preferred to use her right to freedom of expression as a Palestinian.

The activist added, "I'm not on a bad relationship with L'Oréal they made it clear to me that they were under pressure and that they were careful not to take a stand. We have to discuss it again in February."

D'ailleurs si tu sais lire il est écrit je suis en bons termes avec eux et je dois les revoir en février le temps précisément qui ces événements passent et sur lesquels j'ai besoin de m'exprimer / de prendre la parole dans les médias. 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸 see you

French-Israeli journalist Julien Bahloul celebrated the news and wrote on his X account, "This is a great victory over hatred and the glorification of terrorism, and it is unacceptable for the woman who wrote such calls for hatred to continue."

— Julien Bahloul (@julienbahloul) November 5, 2023

Rima Hassan responded to Bahloul, commenting on his post, saying, "What he wrote first is not a scoop, but something I shared through my accounts on social media platforms, and then the policy applied by L'Oréal to everyone, not just me. I accept it."

Bon courage

Palestinian artist Safaa Hathout, who lives in Acre, was subjected to a fierce campaign of incitement on social media, which led to her dismissal from her previous job, according to local websites.

An Israeli citizen had published an inciting post against Hathout and an old photo of her holding the Palestinian flag.

Hathout confirmed that she received a notification of her dismissal from her workplace immediately after the incitement against her was published, and according to her statements, she said: "They told me that they no longer need my services, and they attributed this to reductions in the number of employees, I informed them that these allegations are not true and that I work there freelance and not as an employee."

Palestinian singer Nehme said that she lost her contract as an advertising face for a company because of her insistence on releasing music clips in support of the Palestinian people, including the song "We Live in Cities" through her various accounts on social media platforms.

Nehme, who lives in Canada, said through her account on the "X" platform, that the contract was canceled by the company because of its publications in support of Palestine against the Israeli aggression, and continued that she did not receive pressure to reduce publishing on social media platforms or stop writing, and concluded her speech that she is happy that she did not give in to these pressures and has nothing to lose.

after being dropped by my new label for speaking up against the occupation of my homeland Palestine i was insecure. it was suggested to cooling down the pro-Palestinian posts. i didn't stop. i kept going. i had nothing left to lose & i'm so happy i didn't give into the pressure. https://t.co/cQRQE8UTRu

In another post, Nehme wrote, "All we have is to lose when we talk about the ongoing genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine. Our jobs, our friends, our freedom of expression have been put to the test. It makes you wonder why you trust those who only have gains when they stand by the Israeli colonizers."

all we have is to lose when speaking about the on going genocide against the indigenous population of Palestine. Our jobs, our friends, our freedom of speech put on the line. makes you wonder why trust those that have ONLY to gain when siding with the israeli colonizers.

But El Ghazi responded to the club in another post on November 1 in which he denied any apology, saying, "The comments or apologies attributed to me are not factually true, and I have not stated or approved them."

"I do not regret and do not feel remorse, I do not distance myself from what I said, and I stand today and always until the end of my life with humanity and the oppressed," he added.

It was not limited to celebrities only, but extended to others working in different professions around the world.

On November 3, a German employee named Natasha Dash was dismissed from her job at the American company "Apple", after a post on Instagram in which she described the occupation army as "killers and thieves."

According to the American newspaper "The New York Post", "the incident of dismissal belongs to a pro-Israel supervisory body, to erase her name from the company's employee directory, and delete Natasha's accounts on social media platforms, although a screenshot of a previous post remained in which she referred to the occupation army by saying: (infiltrates countries, robs the lives of those in them, their jobs, homes and streets, and abuses and tortures them)."

The National Council of Muslims of Canada said it was concerned about the incident of al-Akhrass being dismissed, and that its media team would contact it to find out the details of the incident and provide advice.

We are deeply concerned about the alleged firing of a Palestinian journalist by Global News.

Our legal team will be reaching out to provide support as needed. We will also be reaching out to Global News to better understand the reasoning behind the decision.

Zahraa al-Akhras has been publishing her views on the "X" platform for solidarity and reporting the Palestinian cause, stating in a blog post that "the rejection faced by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the Toronto mosque is normal because of his positions in support of the Israeli occupation and then his attempt to win over all parties."

Egyptian content creator Karim Kabbani posted a video complaining that he had been fired from his longtime French company on the grounds that his views were "controversial".
