Beijing, 10 Oct (ZXS) -- On the morning of 19 October, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Egyptian Prime Minister Madbouli at the Great Hall of the People to attend the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
Xi Jinping pointed out that Egypt is the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with New China, and China and Egypt are good friends with common ideals and mutual trust, as well as good partners for joint development and common prosperity. Over the past 10 years, China and Egypt have carried out fruitful cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. China supports Egypt in taking a development path that suits its national conditions, is willing to deepen the docking of development strategies with Egypt, encourages powerful Chinese enterprises to invest in Egypt, and welcomes more Egyptian high-quality products to enter the Chinese market. China is willing to work with Egypt to implement the outcomes of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, agricultural technology and renewable energy, expand people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, and continuously promote the development of China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership.
Xi Jinping congratulated Egypt on being invited to join the BRICS cooperation mechanism, pointing out that China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Egypt under the framework of China-Arab and China-Africa, as well as coordinate and cooperate with the United Nations, BRICS and other multilateral platforms to safeguard true multilateralism, uphold international fairness and justice and the common interests of developing countries, and inject more certainty and stability into the region and the world.
Madebley said that he congratulated China on successfully hosting the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. Egypt sees China as a role model for emerging economies and developing countries. We would like to thank China for its long-term valuable support to Egypt. The joint construction of the "Belt and Road" has greatly improved the level of Egypt's transportation and logistics, and effectively promoted Egypt's economic development. Egypt looks forward to greater development of Egyptian-Chinese relations in various fields, is willing to continue to actively participate in the cooperation of jointly building the "Belt and Road", and expects more Chinese enterprises to invest in Egypt, and Egypt is willing to provide policy support and security guarantees for this purpose. We thank China for supporting Egypt's accession to the BRICS cooperation mechanism and are willing to work closely with China to promote a more balanced and fair international pattern.
Xi Jinping elaborated China's principled position on the current Palestinian-Israeli situation, stressing that the most urgent task is to cease fire and stop the war as soon as possible to avoid the conflict from expanding or even getting out of control, causing a serious humanitarian crisis. The fundamental way to resolve the cycle of Palestinian-Israeli conflict is to implement the two-State solution, establish an independent Palestinian State and achieve peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel. China appreciates Egypt's important role in cooling the situation, supports Egypt's efforts to open humanitarian corridors, and is willing to strengthen coordination with Egypt and Arab countries to promote an early and comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the question of Palestine. Madbouli said that Egypt and Arab countries highly appreciate China's consistent and just position on the Palestinian issue and look forward to China playing a greater role in resolving the current crisis.
