Zakharova noted that the US Navy defiantly switched to the use of the MK-70 launcher complex as part of military maneuvers.
The exercises are held in European countries with the involvement of Washington's allies in the North Atlantic Alliance.
"And thus Washington actually began to work out actions for the transfer to the European theater of operations of missile systems previously banned under the INF Treaty, purposefully destroyed by Washington," the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.
In April 2022, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced the West's rejection of Russia's proposal for a mutual moratorium on the INF Treaty.
In August of the same year, Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, Andrei Belousov, during the review conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, called on the United States and its allies not to be the first to deploy short- and medium-range missiles.
