A Dutch court in the city of Rotterdam renewed the detention of Palestinian activist Amin Abu Rashid, president of the Palestinian Conference of European Citizens, saying it needed more time to review the medical report and the prosecution to complete the examination of his information.

Activists from the Palestinian community demonstrated to demand the release of Abu Rashid after his arrest three months ago. The protesters also demanded that his health be looked at despite the lack of evidence of any wrongdoing, according to his lawyer.

Abu Rashed was arrested in June on suspicion of sending money to organizations linked to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). Abu Rashid and his family denied this.

Iyad Atallah, secretary-general of the Palestinian community in the Netherlands, called on the Dutch court to release Abu Rashid, as it did not present any evidence convicting him of any illegal activities.
