"Nearly 13 years is a long time, not least in a position like this. I have had the privilege of leading an organization with many operations and employees, whose efforts mean a lot to Blekinge and its inhabitants, says Peter Lilja in a press release.
During his years as Region Blekinge's top manager, he has, among other things, been involved in the merger of the former County Council of Blekinge and the then Region Blekinge, and to lead the organization during the stressful corona pandemic.
Recruitment begins
Peter Lilja holds the role until a successor is appointed. Region Blekinge is now initiating the recruitment of a new Regional Director.
– With the experience he has, he is very important, not least in the stage we are in now, with a new political leadership, says Robert Lindén (SD), chairman of the regional board.
