The alarm about the fire came at three o'clock on the night of Tuesday. The fire has started in the belfry and when the emergency services arrived, it was a full-blown fire.

"There was a real fire and there had been a fire in the church roof. The emergency services have tried to contain the fire, but the fire is too extensive to save the church, says the alarm operator.

A total of 12 units have been called to the church fire, of which two from Finland and all remain at the scene of the fire.

– I just received a report from the rescue leader on site that they are now moving their vehicles further from the fire site as it is far too hot, says the alarm operator.

Reportedly, the emergency services were able to rescue some valuable items from the church.

"But what is not known at the moment," says the alarm operator.
