Several people who stood and saw the mosque destroyed in the fire told SVT that they often visited the mosque and that they were sad about the fire.

The communications manager for Eskilstuna's large mosque, Anas Deneche, was in Stockholm when he heard about the fire.

"I ran to the train station. It takes an hour to Eskilstuna, it was the longest hour I've ever experienced," he says.

Anas Deneche says that they do not intend to give up but that the mosque, in some form, will be rebuilt. Until then, he urges members to be patient.

"We get to practice what we Muslims say 'sabar', which is patience.

What happens now to the mosque's members? Hear Anas Deneche tell in the clip.
