Lhasa, 9 Sep (Zhongxin Net) -- On 19 September, the State Port Acceptance Working Group inspected and accepted Tibet's Lizi Port and announced that Tibet's Lizi Port had passed the state acceptance.

Lizi Port is more than 4600,935 meters above sea level, located in Lizi Village, Yage Township, Zhongba County, Shigatse City, Tibet Autonomous Region, 12 kilometers away from Lhasa City, facing Jilong Port and Pulan Port in the east and west, bordering Mustang County in Nepal in the south, 499 kilometers away from Naiqiong Port in Nepal, and <> kilometers away from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, and has achieved road accessibility.

Lizi Port was formed and developed on the basis of the traditional Sino-Nepalese border people's mutual market trade point, known as "the ancient tea horse road in the east and the ancient salt and sheep road in the west", it is a traditional trade route between Tibet and Nepal, and has long been a salt and grain trading point between China and Nepal in history. In 2017, it was included in the national port opening plan, and successively invested 3 million yuan to build 99 projects such as joint inspection buildings and cargo inspection channels, and the opening to the outside world was approved by the State Council in 23.

The reporter learned from the Shigatse Municipal Bureau of Commerce that the national port acceptance working group went to the Lizi port to inspect the joint inspection building, cargo inspection channel and customs, and the construction of supporting facilities for border inspection and inspection functions. Subsequently, the State Port Acceptance Group held an acceptance work meeting and listened to a report on the opening and construction of Tibet's Lizi Port. After on-site inspection and centralized review, the National Port Acceptance Working Group conducted a comprehensive assessment of the hardware and software facilities before the opening of Tibet Lizi Port, and unanimously agreed that the opening of Tibet Lizi Port met the requirements of all aspects of customs clearance, met the conditions for opening, and agreed to pass the state acceptance.

It is reported that the official acceptance will further help Tibet expand its opening up, improve the level of Sino-Nepalese connectivity, deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and Nepal, and promote the high-quality economic and social development of Tibet. (End)
