Tunisian President Kais Saied has implicitly criticized the naming of the hurricane or storm that hit the Greek and Libyan coasts as "Daniel."

Saied said in a video posted on the Tunisian presidency's social media page, "Didn't they bother to ask about the name Daniel?"

"Daniel is a Hebrew prophet, and of course the names were chosen, and this hurricane was named after Daniel and they repeat it. Didn't anyone wonder why he was called Daniel?"

"Because the Zionist movement has infiltrated... The mind and thinking were almost beaten."

Mediterranean Hurricane Daniel caused devastating floods in Libya, killing and injuring thousands in addition to many missing, and causing extensive destruction to homes, properties and facilities in coastal cities in the east of the country.
