This statement was made by US President Joe Biden as part of his speech at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
According to him, this body needs to be expanded in order to hear new opinions on some issues, reports TASS.
"In my speech here last year, I announced that the United States will support the expansion of the Security Council, an increase in the number of permanent and non-permanent members," Biden said.
Earlier it was reported that the President of the United States next week intends to raise the issue of making changes to the architecture of the UN Security Council.
