The activities of the 13th Palestine International Book Fair kicked off on Thursday, with the participation of more than 390 publishing houses and agencies, and a group of Arab writers and poets, making it the largest book fair in the country.

Addressing reporters after the opening, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said that "the exhibition is the embodiment of identity and culture, and it opens (this) year under the slogan From the Nakba to the State."

Shtayyeh added that "the Nakba was the loss of some of the land of Palestine (in 1948) and the displacement of our people, but what is worse is that Palestinian books were stolen, and they are now on the shelves of Israeli libraries."

He stressed that "the exhibition brings together Arabs with Palestine, and brings Palestine together with Palestinians from Gaza, the diaspora, the interior and Jerusalem."

"They want to falsify the Palestinian narrative and reinforce their false narrative, but what we see today is a reinforcement of the Palestinian and Arab narrative through this exhibition," he said.
