The capital will continue to expand the regulated parking areas in the new course, with two neighborhoods, both in areas bordering the boundaries of the current controlled parking areas. The neighborhood requests and the proven pressure of vehicles parked in such areas have encouraged the City Council to establish the SER in new neighborhoods, increasing this network.

As of September 25, the Regulated Parking Service (SER) will be put into operation in new areas of the Pueblo Nuevo, Concepción, San Juan Bautista and Atalaya neighborhood of the Ciudad Lineal district, as well as in the San Isidro neighborhood of the Carabanchel district. The Area of Urbanism, Environment and Mobility, directed by Borja Carabante, will regulate a total of 6,604 additional parking spaces in these neighborhoods. The head of the branch checked yesterday in the neighborhood of Pueblo Nuevo how the signaling of the new SER area was undertaken on Alcalá Street with Gutierre de Cetina.

The implementation of these regulated areas responds to the approval of the Plenary of the district of Ciudad Lineal on February 1 to expand the SER to four neighborhoods: Pueblo Nuevo, Concepción, San Juan Bautista, and Atalaya, the result of a public consultation carried out by the district last January through the Decide Madrid portal. Likewise, it responds to the will of the district of Carabanchel on March 2 to expand the SER to a part of the neighborhood of San Isidro.

The rotation and occupancy studies carried out by the Madrid City Council confirm the high parking pressure existing in these residential areas due to their border effect with respect to neighborhoods with regulated parking.

As Carabante explained, from September 4, residents registered in these neighborhoods will be able to request the authorization of resident parking. The City Council of Madrid will initiate a communication campaign through the distribution of leaflets and the placement of informative posters in the communities of neighbors and some establishments so that the neighbors know the characteristics of the extension and, in addition, SMS and emails will be sent to the residents of whom their data appear.

Through this campaign, the channels through which parking authorization can be obtained will be transferred: the www.madrid.es/ser website, the 010 telephone, any of the offices of attention to the citizens of Línea Madrid or the Specialized Office of Bustamante Street, 16.
