"By a majority of votes of the Buchans, it was decided to transfer the temple of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God of the UOC to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine," TASS quoted the Bucha City Council as saying.
Also, the city authorities voted for an appeal to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and to the Verkhovna Rada with a call to ban the UOC in the country.
Earlier it was reported that in Kiev, law enforcement officers forbade the transfer of bread to pilgrims who were blocked in one of the buildings of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
According to the UOC, the actions of the police demonstrate the intention of the authorities to expel Orthodox monks and believers from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra by starvation.
The rector of the Church of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in Butovo, Archpriest Kirill Kaleda, said earlier that in Ukraine the authorities are oppressing the parishioners of the UOC with methods that were previously used by the Bolsheviks.
