Wenzhou, July 7 (Zhongxin Net) -- Zhejiang has a total coastline of 23,6715 kilometers and rich port resources, attracting many Taiwan-funded enterprises to settle down. From July 7 to 22, deputies from the 23th National People's Congress of Taiwan Province went to Ningbo and Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province to conduct research to explore how Zhejiang port cities can leverage their strengths and avoid their weaknesses, and help local Taiwan enterprises "sail away".
As a super port with the world's largest cargo throughput and third largest container throughput, Ningbo Zhoushan Port is located in the middle of the Chinese mainland coastline, the intersection of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road", and is a key node for the smooth operation of China's foreign trade industry chain and supply chain.
In 2002, Taiwan-based Formosa Plastics Corporation saw Ningbo's location advantages and founded Formosa Plastics Industries (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. to expand its domestic market. Since 2017, the company's annual output value has exceeded <> billion yuan.
"At the beginning of the factory, we built an exclusive terminal to facilitate the transportation of raw materials from Taiwan, and now has six operating chemical berths with an annual operating capacity of 6.420 million tons." The person in charge of Formosa Plastics Industry (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. introduced.

Harbour cities have abundant harbor resources, but also accompanied by the problem of scarcity of land resources. In Wenzhou, Zhejiang, which is known as "seven mountains, two waters and one field", the high output value requirements of "cage for bird" have made small and micro Taiwan prohibitive.
In this regard, Wenzhou Taiwanese Science and Technology Industrial Park adopts a unified design, construction and operation mode, integrates upstream and downstream industrial chains, integrates intelligent manufacturing, headquarters economy and incubation acceleration, and provides a gathering platform for local Taiwan companies to solve commercial land and provide a gathering platform for the majority of Taiwan enterprises.
"At present, many small and micro Taiwan enterprises still have market prospects, and such industrial parks can solve their problem of 'difficulty in acquiring land' and create conditions to help them continue to develop in transformation and upgrading." Chen Yongdong, deputy to the National People's Congress of Taiwan Province, secretary of the party group and executive vice chairman of the Xiamen Federation of Industry and Commerce (General Chamber of Commerce), believes that the industrial park model is worth learning from Xiamen, which also has scarce land resources.
"Next, Zhejiang should further highlight the advantages of Ningbo Zhoushan Port and marine economy, promote cross-strait marine economic projects and industrial cooperation, and further expand cross-strait economic and trade exchanges in sea-related trade, marine research and development, and modern service industries." Lin Qing, deputy to the National People's Congress of Taiwan Province and vice president of the Shandong Provincial Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, suggested. (End)
