On Monday, two detention hearings were held regarding the shooting in Karlstad that took place last Thursday. Both men, 20 and 26 years old, were remanded in custody by Värmland District Court

At the first hearing, the 26-year-old was remanded in custody for attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences. However, the district court chose not to detain him for a suspected assault that allegedly took place the day before the shooting. The man denied the criminal charges but admitted to drug offences.

At today's second detention hearing in the case, the 20-year-old was also detained for attempted murder and aggravated weapons offenses. He, too, denied any wrongdoing.

Unclear if third suspect should be remanded in custody

A third person is also suspected of involvement in the shooting, but on the lower suspicion level "reasonably suspected" and he has not yet been requested to be detained.

"I will decide whether he should be remanded in custody on Tuesday," prosecutor Per Svensson told SVT Nyheter Värmland earlier on Monday.
