"We destroyed more than 50 units of equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine within three hours after receiving the task," said Hero of Russia Ruslan Kurbanov about the offensive of Ukrainian militants.
It is noted that Ukrainian nationalists used various lightly armored vehicles to transport and support infantry. An attempt to push through Russian positions with a large amount of equipment to the militants failed. As a result, the enemy retreated from the battlefield in fear and abandoned the equipment without even turning off the engines.
According to the Military Chronicle, in the first days of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the settlement of Novodonetske, it was the Storm assault detachment and the tank company of the Marine Corps of the Pacific Fleet of Russia that managed to capture military equipment abandoned by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, among which was the American MRAP Oshkosh armored vehicle. It went to the marines in almost perfect condition and was evacuated from the neutral zone for further detailed study.
According to the commander of the tank company, Ruslan Kurbanov, "the modern Oshkosh is inferior even to Soviet technology, since the presence of a huge number of computers and electrical equipment in battle can only interfere."
