The store began the boycott with warning labels on Marabou's chocolate. Now all goods from Mondelez have been marked that the company is blacklisted in Ukraine. In addition, the store in Skärhamn has stopped purchasing the products and canceled summer displays where the company's products are included.
"We don't throw anything away, we sell out what we have, but we have suspended all purchases of these products," says Julia Nordevik, deputy trader.
More companies on the blacklist
In 2022, Mondelez's profit tripled in Russia. SVT has previously reported that a merchant in Umeå stopped purchases from Mondelez. At the same time, there are hundreds more companies that are blacklisted in Ukraine. These include food giants such as Pepsi, Nestlé and Danone.
"At present, we have not heard that Ukraine is calling for a boycott of any other goods," says Julia Nordevik, deputy trader.
No response from Mondelez
The store's owner has provided his contact details to Mondelez but has not received any comment on how the group views its business in Russia.
SVT has also sought Mondelez, who has not returned.
