The China-Laos Railway has been in operation for 18 months and has sent a total of 1640.4 million passengers. In particular, the China-Laos Railway International Passenger Train, which opened on April 13 this year, has achieved same-day access from Kunming to Vientiane, transporting more than 1,28 people from 2 countries in the past month.

In view of the problems of single transportation categories and unbalanced import and export of cross-border goods in China-Laos Railway, the research group proposed to increase the development and utilization of new containers to meet the transportation needs of different goods, increase the proportion of international freight trains of China-Laos Railway, and reduce the occupation of capacity resources by empty container return. Measures such as accelerating the linkage development of the "Lancang-Mekong Express" international freight train of the China-Laos Railway with the China-Europe Express and the new land-sea corridor in the west will enrich freight products and promote the freight volume of the China-Laos Railway.
