Ningbo, June 6 (Reporter Lin Bo) In Yanpu Town, Cangnan County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, surrounded by mountains and seas, the thousand-acre mangrove forest with a height of more than 8 meters is its unique landscape.

No one could have imagined that this beach along Puwan and the surrounding waters had fallen into "development troubles" such as overexploitation of resources and marine pollution.

Under the wind of sustainable development and utilization of the ocean, the town has carried out research on the development and application of large-scale biological ecology in tidal flats, "blue carbon" trading, etc., and through the cultivation of marine organisms such as green crabs, jumping fish, and small octopus, the mangrove forest has become a "golden forest".

This is inseparable from the high-quality development plan of the beach designed by the green aquaculture team of the Donghai Research Institute of Ningbo University for the zero-carbon town along Pupu. The plan takes the marine carbon sequestration trading along Puzhen as the core, provides professional technical support for the local marine carbon sequestration, and "awakens" the active utilization and sustainable development of marine resources.

The oceans are the common home of humankind. Today, in the 21st century, the development and protection of the ocean cannot be separated from scientific and technological support.

In terms of using scientific and technological means to protect marine biodiversity, how to unlock the blue development code through the "smart brain" of scientific research institutes and achieve sustainable development and utilization of the ocean?

Recently, the reporter visited the Donghai Research Institute of Ningbo University on the spot, and through the practice of the institute, he saw the "cross-border" cooperation of scientific research institutes, which not only carries "blue sea and silver beach is also gold and silver mountain", but also shining future imagination.

"Marine ecological protection has a long way to go." Hu Qiuguang, executive vice president of the East China Sea Research Institute of Ningbo University, said in an interview that the protection of marine biodiversity is an objective need and an inevitable choice for survival.

Taking the research of marine carbon sinks as an example, Hu Qiuguang said that the revitalization of blue carbon resources should have scientific and reasonable planning, the participation of society and the public, a systematic and perfect care system, and a sound and powerful institutional framework.

In concrete practice, in addition to providing program support for Yanpu Town, the hospital's team also carried out blue carbon scheme design in Xiangshan and other places, effectively helping Xiangshan achieve the first blue carbon auction in China.

It is worth noting that in the "Zhejiang Xiangshan Shrimp and Crab Science and Technology Institute", the expert team of the Donghai Research Institute of Ningbo University has provided a lot of scientific and technological assistance for the breeding of "shrimp soldiers and crabs".

"Zhejiang Xiangshan Shrimp and Crab Science and Technology Small Institute" is a scientific and technological service platform integrating agricultural scientific and technological innovation, demonstration and promotion and talent training established on the production line, providing aquaculture households with full-time and all-round scientific and technological services.

"The research team led by the professor of our institute organizes and carries out science popularization training and on-site guidance of the Xiangshan Shrimp and Crab Science and Technology Small Institute every year, serves shrimp and crab farmers, and is committed to achieving zero distance from research to application, from experts to farmers, and from technology to industry." Hu Qiuguang said that the power of the small institute of science and technology is far more than aquaculture technology, but also brings together the advantageous resources of Ningbo University, allowing various disciplines to study in groups, form a joint force to solve problems, and help the sustainable development of the industry.

It is true that playing the role of "smart brain" is not "fighting alone", but gathering resources from multiple parties and building a cooperation platform.

In the actual process, the Donghai Research Institute of Ningbo University is also actively making use of the advantages of Ningbo University's comprehensive university, highlighting the characteristics of oceanization of social sciences, and comprehensively using the research methods of integration of arts and sciences and interdisciplinary disciplines.

The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out: "Chinese-style modernization is the modernization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature. ”

In addition to the ocean, focusing on biodiversity conservation and regional development strategies, the institute will also make good use of the scientific research team and scientific research strength, promote international exchanges, local practice, social research, public welfare services, etc., hold and actively participate in international conferences, expand inter-university partnerships with foreign universities, combine theory and practice, and actively dedicate itself to serving the local community.

Zhejiang is a major maritime province with a sea area of 26,<> square kilometers. The <>th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Zhejiang Province's Marine Economy puts forward development goals such as achieving Zhejiang's marine innovation capability and ranking among the forefront in China.

Among them, it is very important to give full play to the power of scientific research institutes.

On the road of exploring the sustainable development of the ocean, Hu Qiuguang suggested that the government should take the lead and unite sea-related scientific research institutes, universities and relevant enterprises to break administrative and disciplinary barriers, effectively integrate regional marine scientific research forces, and build a number of high-end scientific and technological innovation platforms with openness, sharing and capability integration at a high level on the basis of strengthening the integrated allocation of marine scientific research projects, funds and talents, and give full play to the regional radiation capacity of marine scientific research platforms to form a collaborative innovation development pattern with complementary advantages and different characteristics.
