Region Norrbotten offers free travel and accommodation for the whole family for those who choose to work a summer in Norrbotten.
After five years at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, midwife Mikaela Stadig has grown tired of the situation during the summer.
"We are super excited"
The opportunity to try to live a different life during the summer meant that she got the whole family with her.
"They're super excited. We have got a large apartment where we can fit and we have planned excursions.
Record number of substitutes
The campaign from Region Norrbotten has been successful and they have received a record number of summer substitutes.
After the summer, Mikaela Stadig has a new position in Stockholm but does not rule out that life in the north may convert her.
"I think I would have a hard time getting my family to come up. But there are solutions for working in a different place than where you live.
