From June 6 to 3, a delegation composed of 7 countries including Fiji, Colombia and Greece, as well as more than 19 envoys and senior diplomats from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to China, began a five-day ecological civilization trip in Guizhou.

During the period, the delegation went to Guiyang, Anshun, Bijie and other places to visit and investigate Guizhou's development achievements in ecological civilization, rural revitalization, green poverty reduction, scientific and technological innovation and bridge construction, and learned about China's experience and practices in ecological civilization construction on the spot.

【Commentary】Located in Bijie, Guizhou, Huawu Village, known as "the village under the cliff", once suffered serious soil erosion due to fragile ecology. In recent years, Huawu Village has successively implemented treatment measures such as slope conversion and returning farmland to forest, and has embarked on a green development path combining organic planting, underforest breeding and eco-tourism. During this trip, I learned the story of the development of Kawu, and the Fijian Ambassador to China Manassa Tangisakimbo was deeply moved.

Fiji's Ambassador to China Manassa Tangisakimbo

What Guizhou has done well is that development does not come at the expense of the environment and ecology, they ensure that the integrity of the environment and ecology is protected and maintained in the development work. We learned that UNESCO once considered this place unlivable, due to river pollution, soil erosion and other problems, it was not suitable for human living environment, but over the years, the people of Huawu and the Guizhou government have worked hard to improve the living standards of Huawu people from a state of poverty to the current state of prosperity and happiness. People live happily there, in harmony with nature.

During the visit to Guizhou, members of the envoy delegation to China would take out their mobile phones to record what they saw and heard everywhere they went. Coming to the Guizhou Bridge Science and Technology Museum of Balinghe, Greek Ambassador to China Karpelis is very interested in bridge construction in Guizhou, he told reporters that Greece is also actively promoting bridge construction and tourism integration, which is similar to Guizhou.

Greek Ambassador to China Kar Peris

Greece and Guizhou have a lot in common, Guizhou is a mountainous country, and Greece also has many mountain ranges, at least eighty percent of the country is mountains, and has about 6000,<> islands. So, when you tell us how important bridges are to Guizhou, I can understand you, because you sometimes encounter difficulties. We in Greece have the same problem on the continent, because of the mountains, we have many problems with movement, therefore, this requires a huge infrastructure, as you guys did here, you did well. We are also trying to build bridges and tunnels in Greece and connect the islands by ship services, so there are some commonalities.

【Commentary】Feel the "Daming Relics" 600 years ago in Anshun Tianlongtunbao Castle, tour the Dragon Palace and Huangguoshu Scenic Area to appreciate the unique karst landforms, and experience tea ceremony, piano art and calligraphy in Guiyang Confucius School... For the delegation of envoys in China, this trip to Guizhou is also a cultural journey to deeply experience the colorful Guizhou and perceive the beautiful China.

Colombian Ambassador to China Sergio Cabrera

I love China very much. Now more and more people are learning Chinese, [Colombia] there are Confucius Institutes, [I think] this is a very important thing for our cooperation between the two countries, because then we can get to know each other.

Many envoys in China said that they would introduce what they saw and heard in Guizhou to their own governments, all walks of life and enterprises, actively seek opportunities for cooperation, and also become ambassadors to promote Guizhou and actively promote Guizhou to the world.

The Bahamas' Ambassador to China Paulet Bethel

This is my job, no doubt about it. When we met yesterday, the Ambassador of Fiji spoke on our behalf and he said very kindly that we are not only ambassadors for our country here, but we are also ambassadors for China, to bring the message of beauty and friendship of this country back to our country and let them know what we have experienced here. That's right, it is.

Guinean Ambassador to China Aminata Koita

Guinea and Guizhou have a lot of similarities, mountains, rivers and so on, so if we build a cooperative relationship between the two places, I think it will be a good thing for the people of both places.
