Actually, the part of the bridge that is lifted should stop when the weight reaches a certain limit value, as a safety stop. But a programming in the engines that lift the bridge was incorrect.

"The limit value was far too low. Therefore, the bridge stopped at a load that was much lower than it can actually handle, says Axel Wannerskog at the City of Gothenburg to SR and adds:

"It's the human factor. Something has happened in the code knock.

Since April, the error has been fixed.
