• Courts The 'love swindler', wanted and captured after failing to show up for trial

The Mossos d'esquadra have rearrested Albert Cavallé, known as 'the scammer of love' for taking money from two women he met on dating applications. He is accused of two crimes of fraud and according to the agents the complaints of the victims follow the same pattern: they meet a man through a dating website and he tells them that he is a doctor with a high purchasing power but that he had had a problem.

That is why he demanded cash amounts from them, with the promise that he would return them soon, and when he had them, he disappeared. One woman left him 4,000 euros and the other 600. After the passing of the days the victims urged the repayment of the debt so the suspect, 39, stopped answering messages and calls. Thus, they realized that they had suffered a scam and reported to the Local Police of La Llagosta and the Mossos in Sabadell.

In collaboration with agents of the police station of Sant Boi arrested the suspect for these two scams. The investigation is still open and it is not ruled out that the accused can be linked to more cases, according to police sources. The arrest was made on June 1 and the day before Cavallé did not appear at a trial to which he was summoned.

Last week, the Criminal Court 1 of Barcelona issued a search warrant, arrest and provisional detention for Albert Cavallé, since he did not appear at the trial he had planned. In that procedure, the Prosecutor's Office asks for 3 years in prison for alleged crime of continued fraud to a woman who asked 850 euros divided into two loans that she never returned.
