This was announced by the head of the government of the Kherson region Andriy Alekseenko.

"Three operational groups of rescuers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry have been sent to Nova Kakhovka, Hola Pristan and Alyoshki," he wrote on Telegram.

Alekseenko noted that the situation is under full control.

On the morning of June 6, the head of Nova Kakhovka, Vladimir Leontiev, reported damage to the upper part of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

As a result of numerous strikes on the station at about 02:00, the valves were destroyed, as a result of which water from the Kakhovka reservoir rose and began to be discharged uncontrollably downstream.

About 300 houses downstream, in Dnipro and Korsunka, can fall into the flood zone.
