"The canal supplying this city with water begins directly in the area of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. What is a city left without water? These are epidemics and a very high mortality rate, because a person does not live long without water," Rybalchenko said.

He also stated that this would lead to soil erosion. The ecologist recalled that without watering there will be no harvest.

The specialist believes that in this way the Ukrainian authorities have spoiled their situation for many years to come.

Rybalchenko added that the flooding of settlements will be no longer than two to two and a half days, after which the water will leave.

He said that the water level in the Dnieper began to rise on May 7.

"The Kakhovka hydroelectric power station is the lower, sixth in a row, before it there are five more controlled by Ukraine. And it was there, since it is possible to raise the water level only through the cascades of previous power plants, it was there that the actions associated with a significant increase in the water level began. What for? In the event of destruction, if a large amount of water rushes to the break point, it will collapse faster," the ecologist added.

On the morning of June 6, the head of Nova Kakhovka, Vladimir Leontiev, reported damage to the upper part of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

Newinform reported that the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the article on the terrorist attack after the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Kyiv regime committed a terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant to prevent the offensive of the Russian Armed Forces in this area.
