Xiao Qian said that educational cooperation is an important starting point for people-to-people exchanges between China and Australia, and Charles Darwin University has continuously deepened exchanges and cooperation with Chinese universities and scientific research institutions over the years, providing high-quality higher education resources for Chinese students. At present, China-Australia relations are stable and improving, exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two sides are gradually restored, and it is hoped that Charles Darwin University will give full play to its unique advantages and continue to expand and deepen the educational and scientific research cooperation between the two countries.

Bowman said that Charles Darwin has more than 300 Chinese students studying abroad, and looks forward to more Chinese students coming to study and exchange. The University has established good partnerships with many universities such as Anhui Normal University and Hainan University, and has achieved fruitful results in cooperation in medicine, health care and tropical agriculture. With the improvement of the new crown epidemic and the stabilization and improvement of relations between the two countries, the university is willing to continue to strengthen cooperation with Chinese universities and research institutions in medicine, environment, agriculture, education and other disciplines.

On the same day, Xiao Qian visited the Confucius Institute at Charles Darwin University, where he affirmed the important role of the Charles Darwin Confucius Institute in promoting Chinese traditional culture and promoting people-to-people exchanges between China and Australia, and encouraged the teachers and students of the Confucius Institute to continue to make greater contributions to enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the people of the Northern Territory and the Chinese.
