According to Denis Migal, founder of the Fresh car marketplace, the change in the price of cars is affected by the volatility of the exchange rate and the increase in the cost of customs clearance.

"To date, there are no prerequisites for reducing the cost of new cars," said Andrey Terlyukevich, General Director of the AvtoSpetsCenter Group of Companies.

He stressed that there are difficulties with the payment of cars between Russian legal entities and suppliers from Europe, as well as the rise in price of logistics services.

Earlier it was reported that the demand for new cars in Russia in May 2023 increased by 2.6 times compared to the same period in 2022.

In total, more than 72.2 thousand new cars were sold in the country during the month. The leader is the domestic brand Lada with a market share of over 30%. According to experts, it is too early to talk about the recovery of the market, but the growth in sales that has persisted for several months against the backdrop of deferred demand gives grounds for optimism.
