"On June 4, the enemy made an unsuccessful attempt at a large-scale offensive in the Yuzhno-Donetsk direction," the military department said in a statement.
It is noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine involved six mechanized and two tank battalions.
Aviation and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces inflicted significant losses on the enemy in the area of the settlements of Neskuchnoye and Novodarivka.
"During the day, up to 300 Ukrainian servicemen, 16 tanks, 26 armored combat vehicles, as well as 14 vehicles were destroyed in this direction," the text says.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a large-scale offensive in five sectors of the front in the South Donetsk direction on the morning of June 4.
According to the ministry, Ukrainian troops failed to succeed during the offensive.
