According to TASS, this was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko at a meeting with the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Mikhail Mishustin.

"Now two state contracts have been concluded for the elimination of waste from the central treatment facilities of the plant with the most dangerous substance - black liquor, it has accumulated 290 thousand cubic meters. And also for the elimination of waste from the Babkhinsky landfill. In total, the government has allocated 6.6 billion rubles for the elimination of BPPM waste this year," Abramchenko said.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Alexander Kozlov, said that the bill to ban the circulation of disposable plastic near Lake Baikal, which is currently being considered in the State Duma, is planned to be expanded to other regions in the future.

Kozlov recalled that Lake Baikal contains about 20% of the world's fresh water reserves. Preserving the lake in the current situation of climate change is an important humanitarian task for the country.
