It was at midnight that Maryam's phone rang. The family's hair salon had been hit by several gunshots. Panic and a feeling of powerlessness have taken hold of her, she says.
"I've lived in Eskilstuna for almost 20 years, I don't recognize myself anymore," she says.
The family has considered moving after the incident. According to Maryam, the police have said that the shots were most likely not aimed at the salon but someone or someone standing nearby there.
"You don't live as usual anymore, we don't dare go out in the evenings," she says.
