"We have agreed that the parties will meet again in the week starting on June 12," Stoltenberg said after his talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Stoltenberg has been in Turkey to attend when Erdogan was sworn in for a third term on Saturday. He has since held bilateral talks with Erdogan and the new Turkish government in Istanbul.

"Sweden has lived up to the requirements"

It is still possible to achieve Swedish NATO membership by the summit in Vinlnius on July 11, Stoltenberg said. He says that Sweden has taken concrete steps to meet Turkey by, among other things, introducing a new anti-terror law.

"Sweden has fulfilled what it has promised," Stoltenberg said of the demands that the countries agreed on last summer at the Madrid summit.

SVT is seeking Foreign Minister Tobias Billström (M) for a comment.
