It all started in 2017, when 13-year-old Shaïna sent nude photos to her boyfriend. He takes the opportunity to blackmail her, lured her to a disused clinic, where he and two friends sexually assaulted the schoolgirl. They were sentenced last Thursday, on appeal to suspended sentences ranging from one to two years in prison.

At the time, the video of the assault made the rounds on social media. In her neighbourhood, Shaïna gained a "reputation as aneasy girl". She then has to change schools, suffers mockery and insults, especially from her former boyfriend. The latter is left free by the judge during the investigation.

Like others in the city, he has not digested that she has filed a complaint, so he threatens and harasses her online. He even beats her with friends, in May 2019.

Shaïna filed a complaint again. She, who has met a new boy, wants to become a lawyer. But she becomes pregnant, which the young man does not accept: he is accused of having stabbed her at the end of October 2019, with three stab wounds in the stomach, then having burned her alive. In prison, the young person who was 17 years old at the time of the facts would have confided to a fellow prisoner "prefer to take 30 years than to be the father of a bastard". According to the investigation, the teenager attributed paternity to the accused.

The number of femicides increased by 20 percent in France in 2021 compared to the previous year, with 122 women killed by their spouses or ex-spouses, according to the Interior Ministry.
