Beijing, June 6 (ZXS) -- China Aero Engine Group (AVIC) announced on June 4 that AECC's "Taihang 6" heavy-duty gas turbine (codenamed AGT-4) passed product verification and appraisal in Shenzhen on the same day, marking that the 110-megawatt-class heavy-duty gas turbine with independent intellectual property rights has passed the whole machine verification, filling the gap of China's power level products.

AECC "Taihang 110" heavy-duty gas turbine has a design power of 110 MW, which has the advantages of rapid start-up, high comprehensive thermal efficiency and simple maintenance, and can use a variety of fuels such as fuel oil, natural gas and medium and low calorific value gas to generate electricity, and can be applied to cogeneration, natural gas peaking power station, combined cycle power generation and other fields, and can also cooperate with wind power, photovoltaic, hydropower and other energy coupling power supply. Compared with thermal power generating units of the same power, 110 MW-class heavy-duty gas turbines can reduce carbon emissions by more than 100 million tons a year, generate more than 15,1 kilowatt-hours of electricity in one hour of combined cycle, and meet the electricity needs of 5,<> households for one day.

Gas turbines work on the same principle as aero engines, with similar core components and similar manufacturing processes. After the establishment of AECC in 2016, it built a gas turbine industry development platform with AECC Gas Turbine Co., Ltd. as the main body, used the design, manufacturing and quality management system of advanced aircraft engines to comprehensively promote the improvement and modification of the "Taihang 110" heavy-duty gas turbine, and achieved the set goals of technological upgrading, quality improvement and cycle shortening on schedule. In 2019, the "Taihang 110" heavy-duty gas turbine was listed as the first batch of gas turbine innovation and development demonstration projects of the National Energy Administration, the improved heavy-duty gas turbine assembly rolled off the production line in 2020, and the demonstration operation was launched at CNOOC's Shenzhen power plant in 2022. At present, the "Taihang 110" heavy-duty gas turbine has exceeded 1,4 equivalent hours in operation, of which the number of single operating hours exceeds 7000,<> equivalent hours.

In the development of the improvement and modification of the "Taihang 110" heavy-duty gas turbine of AECC, it has gathered the strength of domestic aviation, machinery, petroleum, electric power and other industries, and has obtained 102 patents, breaking through a series of key core technologies such as heavy-duty gas turbine design, advanced material preparation, complete machine manufacturing, testing and commissioning, establishing a number of advanced research platforms such as design, development, testing and commissioning of heavy-duty gas turbines with independent intellectual property rights, and cultivating a highly specialized heavy-duty gas turbine design, development, manufacturing and production talent team.

It is understood that heavy-duty gas turbines are the core equipment for efficient energy conversion, clean utilization, and multi-field applications, heavy-duty gas turbines have broad application prospects, with the rapid development of China's gas-fired power generation capacity, independent development of heavy-duty gas turbines, for achieving the "dual carbon" goal, ensuring national energy security, and helping high-quality development has important strategic significance.
