"The enemy is scattered and retreated": the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported a strike on the Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group in the area of Novaya Tavolzhanka

The press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported a strike on a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group trying to penetrate the territory of the Belgorod region. According to the agency, on June 4, units covering the state border of the Western Military District and the Border Service of the FSB of Russia revealed an attempt by Ukrainian saboteurs to cross the river near the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka.

"An artillery strike was carried out on the enemy. The enemy is scattered and retreated," the department said.

Earlier, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that a sabotage and reconnaissance group entered the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka in the southwest of Shebekin, where the battle began.

"I hope that they will all be destroyed, there can be no other way by definition: every day civilians die at the hands of these fascists, including in the Belgorod region," he said during a video message on Telegram.

At the same time, he expressed his readiness to hold a meeting with members of the DRG at the Shebekino checkpoint to discuss the issue of the return of prisoners. On Sunday, the terrorists distributed a video in which they invited Gladkov to meet with them in Novaya Tavolzhanka.

Recall that on May 22, a unit of the Ukrainian nationalist formation invaded the territory of Russia after intensive artillery shelling of the Kozinka international checkpoint and a number of other civilian objects in the Grayvoronsky district of the Belgorod region.

As stated later in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, during the counter-terrorist operation, nationalist formations were blocked and defeated. The ministry clarified that the remnants of the militants were thrown back to the territory of Ukraine, where they continued to inflict fire damage until complete elimination.

According to MoD estimates, the Russian military destroyed more than 70 Ukrainian terrorists, four armored combat vehicles and five pickup trucks.

On the fact of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the settlements of the Belgorod region, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: "Terrorist act", "Encroachment on the life of law enforcement officers", "Attempted murder", "Intentional destruction or damage to property", "Illegal trafficking in weapons and explosives".

Shelling of the Belgorod region

Meanwhile, the Kyiv regime continues massive shelling of the territory of the Belgorod region. As the governor of the region stated on the afternoon of June 4, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired 519 shells per day only in the Shebekinsky urban district. As a result, two women were killed and two more civilians were injured.

In addition, according to Gladkov, numerous damages to administrative and commercial facilities were recorded in the city of Shebekino.

Shortly before that, he said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sunday hit trading modules on the territory of the market in the center of Shebekin. As the head of the region specified, as a result of a direct hit by shells, several fires arose.

During the day, multiple attacks were recorded in Novaya Tavolzhanka (102 arrivals) and the village of Murom (52 attacks). In addition, the enemy fired from the Grad MLRS at the village of Ziborivka, firing 20 shells.
