Beijing, June 6 (Zhongxin Net) -- Li Hui, special representative of the Chinese government for Eurasian affairs, said in Beijing on June 2 that the most intuitive feeling was that transportation was inconvenient, and he had taken a train from Kiev to Warsaw for nearly 6 hours.

On the same day, the China Public Diplomacy Association held a special briefing on the "Linjia No. 7 Salon" in Beijing, at which Li Hui introduced the relevant situation of visiting Ukraine, Poland, France, Germany, the EU headquarters and Russia, and held discussions and exchanges with Chinese and foreign journalists.

A reporter asked, as a senior diplomat, you have visited European countries and regions many times, this visit is to accept a major mission, from a personal feeling, what do you think is different from the previous one?

"Compared with the past, the most intuitive feeling is that the transportation is inconvenient." Li Hui said, "There are no direct flights to Ukraine this time, and Ukraine is in a period of flight ban. We flew from Beijing to Dubai and from Dubai to Warsaw. ”

Li Hui said that since there was no direct train ticket from Warsaw to Kiev, we arrived at the border by car at 12 o'clock at night, and then took a direct train from the border to Kiev for nearly 14 hours. When we came back, we bought direct train tickets from Kiev to Warsaw, and we took a total of nearly 18 hours, just like the Chinese people say the green train, which stops every 15 to 20 minutes.

Li Hui further said that due to the suspension of flights between Europe and Russia, when we left Brussels at the end of our visit to the EU headquarters, we had to fly from Brussels to Istanbul and then to Moscow. It was supposed to take only three hours to travel from Brussels to Moscow, but we ended up spending nearly a dozen hours going back and forth, making a detour through Istanbul and not resting all night.

Li Hui said that from the perspective of transportation, it is indeed very inconvenient, which is also the most intuitive embodiment of the impact of the Ukrainian crisis on the economic and social life of various countries. Transportation is only one aspect, Ukraine, Russia and European countries, in the past, there were very close economic, cultural and social exchanges, now many of them are artificially cut off, the greatest damage to interests is not other countries on the other side of the ocean, but Ukraine, Russia and European countries.

Based on the experience and feelings of this trip, Li Hui pointed out that the longer the crisis drags on, the greater the sacrifice and the greater the price that Ukraine, Russia and Europe will bear. Getting out of the crisis as soon as possible is beneficial to all parties, and this is also the starting point of China's persuasion and promotion of talks. "In order to make persuasion and talk effective, these twists and turns we have experienced are nothing." (End)
