"It's just a matter of regret that the economy is not available in all places," says Fredrik Eriksson, manager at Lima and Transtrands Besparingsskog, which is behind the free investment in the north.
The basins in the north not municipal
A few years ago, Sparsskogarna took over responsibility for the two swimming pools in Lima and Transtrand.
They now offer all children in Lima, Transtrand and the Sälen area free swimming school. Six lessons at the facilities Äråbadet and Tjärnheden immediately after the school closings.
– Wonderful, many may not be able to afford to have their children at swimming school, says Lotta Martinsson, who has grandchildren of swimming school age.
The municipality charges SEK 500 per child
But further south, in Malung itself at the Bullsjön facility, the children have to pay SEK 500 to attend the swimming school. There, it is Malung-Sälen municipality that arranges swimming lessons.
In the video, you hear bathers talk about what they think about the initiative – and then the manager explains why they can keep swimming lessons in Lima-Transtrand free of charge.
