It was in January 2022 that Kockenhus Manor, between Arild and Mölle on Kullaberg, caught fire. Emergency services worked for several hours to try to save the historic building, but in the end the fire was devastating.

In July, Gyllenstiernska Krapperupstitelsen, which manages the building, applied for a building permit to restore the building. Eventually, it was granted by Höganäs municipality, and now you can tick off an important part of the work on the list – getting the large towers, which have been rebuilt from scratch, onto the roof.

"It's a very nice fit on the towers, so it worked really well," says Håkan Holmgren, operations manager at the Gyllenstiernska Krapperup Foundation.

"Should be as it has always been"

Following demands from the municipality, an antiquarian investigation has been carried out, which will be closely followed during the restoration work.

"It will be quite similar to what it was when it was built. We have made some changes in the form of a larger kitchen, for example, but otherwise it should be as it has always been, both inside and out," says Håkan Holmgren.

According to Håkan Holmgren, the restoration, which will cost around SEK 35-40 million, is expected to be fully completed in just over a year. After that, the house will mainly be used by the foundation, but will also be able to be rented by, among other things, various companies.
