"Decisions like this and others like them are part and element of illegal anti-Russian sanctions, and, in my deep conviction, this is a shot in the foot," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to Davydov, such a decision will hit the Polish citizens and carriers themselves.

He also drew attention to the fact that "it is much more difficult to travel around Russia than Poland."

"Therefore, this is just, probably, political psychosis to the detriment of the European economy," said the head of the Federal Customs Service, noting that such a decision by Warsaw has no economic basis.

Earlier it was reported that the Polish authorities decided to close traffic across its border for trucks with Russian and Belarusian license plates from June 1 of this year.
