"A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Russia (negligence resulting in the death of a person through negligence)," the statement said.

According to the investigation, on May 28, in the village of Golov, an ambulance could not get to the patient, because of the bridge, which was in poor condition. This led to the fact that the man, who could not move himself, had to be transported to the car in a shopping cart. The next day, he died in the intensive care unit of a medical facility.

The reason for the incident was the inaction of officials of the administration of the Krasnoarmeysky municipal district, which led to the inadequate condition of the bridge.

Earlier it was reported that in the Chuvash village of Golov, the patient had to be taken in a garden wheelbarrow to an ambulance.
