Beijing, May 5 (ZXS) -- On the occasion of the "June 31" International Children's Day, the relevant person in charge of the Chinese market supervision department revealed on the 31st that in order to ensure the quality and safety of children's and student supplies, this year will focus on the safety of emerging "Internet celebrity" toys and "three no" stationery supplies.
At the special press conference on the quality and safety of children's and student supplies held on the same day, Duan Yongsheng, director of the Department of Product Quality and Safety Supervision and Administration of the State Administration for Market Regulation of China, pointed out that this year, the market supervision department sorted out the children's and student products with strong public feedback, public opinion concern and greater risk, and focused on the following work.
In terms of key products, it will focus on emerging "Internet celebrity" toys, including decompression toys, magnetic toys, projectile toys, fidget spinners, smelly bags, fried bags, fake water toys, kitchen cooking set toys and blind box toys. Attention will also be paid to dangerous stationery, as well as related textile products and supplies for children and infants.
In response to relevant prominent problems, Duan Yongsheng said that in addition to focusing on the chemical, physical and flammability hazards of "Internet celebrity" toys, the market supervision department will also focus on dangerous stationery products selling "three no", missing warning instructions or irregular age labels in stores around campus.
In recent years, the Chinese market regulatory authorities have comprehensively used various means such as quality supervision, law enforcement inspection, credit supervision, standard certification, defective product recall, and online transaction supervision to strengthen the supervision and random inspection of children's and student supplies and risk monitoring, and the "seedling protection" action has blossomed at multiple points.
According to statistics, since the implementation of the CCC certification (compulsory product certification) system, the qualification rate of children's toys has increased from less than 40% to 96%. Since 2022, market supervision departments across the country have implemented a total of 919 recall activities of defective consumer goods, involving 1692.3 million cases. Among them, 308 children's products were recalled, with a total of 733.9 million items. Since last year, the national market supervision department has investigated and dealt with a total of 4371,1978 cases of quality violations in the field of children's and student supplies, involving a value of 20.2193 million yuan and a fine and confiscation amount of 09.<> million yuan.
