Due to the risk of violent thunderstorms during the evening of Wednesday, four departments (Gers, Landes, Hautes-Pyrénées and Pyrénées-Atlantiques) have been placed on "orange" alert. These storms may be accompanied by heavy hail, cumulative precipitation of up to 50 to 60 mm, and wind gusts of up to 100 km/h.

The departments of Gers, Landes, Hautes-Pyrénées and Pyrénées-Atlantiques were placed on "orange" alert by Météo-France because of the risk of violent thunderstorms during the evening of Wednesday.

A stormy episode expected from 19 to 23 p.m.

According to Météo-France, "in the late afternoon, strong thunderstorms will progress from east to west" on these four departments of the Southwest, and "may be accompanied by heavy hail, accumulations of precipitation reaching 50 to 60 mm in a short time", and wind gusts up to 100 km / h. This violent stormy episode is expected from 19:00 to 23:00 in the area, by Météo France.

32 other departments in the southern half of the country have been placed on "yellow" alert for the risk of thunderstorms during the night from Wednesday to Thursday.
