"Inflation and interest rates are driving costs. We are not alone in this. Region Halland will be hit by half a billion, says Ove Bengtsson (C), chairman of the municipal council, after the decision on the budget in the municipal council on Tuesday evening.

He also believes that a more expensive pension agreement with Kommunal is one reason for the savings.

Night ice is closed down

The greatest savings are expected in schools and social care, which cost the municipality the most. SVT News Halland has previously reported on the closure of night care – preschool during inconvenient working hours. Other parts are reduced school vouchers, streamlining school transport and going from five to four administrations.

"This means that there will be groups in society that will feel these savings. All taxpayers will feel that they are receiving higher taxes," says Ove Bengtsson. (C).

Before the savings proposals are implemented, risk and impact analyses are carried out.

Second lowest tax in Halland

Before the tax increase of 52 öre is implemented, Laholm Halland has Halland's second lowest municipal tax with SEK 20 and 58 öre per earned hundred kronor.
