With regard to measures to address the declining birthrate, Prime Minister Kishida instructed the relevant ministers to secure an annual budget of mid-3 trillion yen in order to advance intensive efforts over the next three years. In addition to financial resources, we plan to proceed with concrete considerations in the process of compiling the budget for the next fiscal year by the end of the year.

In order to intensively strengthen measures to address the declining birthrate over the next three years, the government plans to present a draft of the "Children's Future Strategy Policy," which includes specific measures, on June 3, and Prime Minister Kishida coordinated with the relevant ministers on June 6.

According to Minister Goto, Minister for Economic Revitalization, Prime Minister Kishida instructed the government to secure a new budget in the mid-3 trillion yen range for the next three years in order to advance intensive efforts.

The government has been discussing an annual increase of about 3 trillion yen, but it has been requested that it be further increased.

Prime Minister Kishida also indicated that in securing the budget, he intends to focus on higher education expenses, the prevention of child poverty and abuse, and the expansion of support for children with disabilities.

After the meeting, Minister Goto told reporters, "I would like to compile a concrete draft of the government in accordance with today's policy and coordinate with the ruling parties and others."
