"We need to convince the South. Thanks to Japan's involvement, the [Ukrainian] conflict is no longer just a matter for the West. Many developing countries believe that this is not their war," TASS quoted the politician as saying.

He recalled that many countries believe that their main problem is their own fight against poverty.

"There is a risk that all these countries will be brought in by someone else to create an alternative world order," Macron said.

To avoid such a scenario, the French president suggested considering providing these countries with the assistance they need.

Andrew Sheng, a researcher at the Asian Global Institute at the University of Hong Kong, previously expressed the opinion that the Global South has "fallen out of love" with the West and the liberal order, so more and more countries are ready to start expressing dissatisfaction with the imposed world order.
