Macron: Europe should be part of future arms treaties with the US and Russia

He made the corresponding statement during the international security conference Globsec in Bratislava.

According to him, Europe did not participate in the agreements on medium-range weapons and the Treaty on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START).

"I say quite clearly: we, Europeans, must be the subjects of these agreements that ensure our security and which create a framework for the future," TASS quoted him as saying.

The French president added that if European countries delegate the conclusion of new agreements to "others - Russia, the United States or anyone else," they will never become a "convincing participant in the process."

Earlier, the Kremlin said that the situation with arms control is very sad, the responsibility lies entirely with the United States.
