The decision is a consequence of Jamal El-Haj visiting the European Palestinian Conference in Malmö, which other Social Democratic members were advised not to attend.
"We have had talks and it is important to have a dialogue with the members. The party did not want us to participate and he still chose to participate, says group leader Lena Hallengren to the radio.
Initially, the Social Democrats, the Left Party and the Green Party were supposed to attend, but withdrew because the organizer was identified as the leader of the EU-designated terrorist organization Hamas.
– Now Jamal will have a time out in his assignment as a substitute in the Foreign Affairs Committee for at least the rest of the year and then we will see, says Lena Hallengren.
