On Wednesday, the murder charge was issued against the man, in his 20s, who is suspected of murdering his own father in February this year. According to a minor mental examination, the man was mentally ill at the time of the act. The suspect has confessed to the course of events but denies the crime.

Snuck into the police station

Prosecutor Ove Jäverfelt says that the man was able to get into the police station after a car drove out and the driver did not see that the garage door had closed again.

About eight minutes later, he runs out again, after another car drives in. He makes his way to the main entrance of the police station where he meets a cleaner, says Jäverfelt.

Shortcomings in routines

SVT Nyheter Väst, has previously reported that the murder suspect was able to get into the Borås police's garage as there were shortcomings in the routines regarding entry and exit to the garage.

"When there are various incidents, the security department looks at what has happened to see if changes need to be made to our routines," said Peter Sörstedt, head of the Älvsborg police area in February.
