Despite the fact that representatives from Jönköping municipality had over two weeks, they did not succeed in getting a representative to the membership meeting. There was a loud booing when members found out.

"This is about the EU directive on eleven hours of daily rest, which Jönköping municipality has converted into thirteen hours of daily rest. It's about the health and social care staff now working every other weekend and it's about there being fixed schedules for all activities, says David Svensson, who is section chairman in health and social care for Kommunal in Jönköping.

Dissatisfaction over what the staff see as major deterioration has been smoldering for a few weeks, since they received the news. There have been many emails to SVT where several say that they will not be able to continue working.

"We have recently released a report that there is a majority who want to leave elderly care. We need better conditions," says David Svensson.
