Six adults and three children were injured in the shooting, which erupted at 18:30 p.m. local time on the boardwalk. According to a medical spokesperson, the condition of all the injured is stable.
According to preliminary investigations, a confrontation between two groups ended with shots being fired, police said.
One person has been detained and police are searching for another suspect.
A person who was on the boardwalk said, according to the AP, that several young men were fighting outside some shops when one of them pulled out a gun and started shooting.
Another man who was down on the beach when the gunfire erupted says he heard several shots fired. He first hid behind a tree and then fled the scene when police urged people to run away.
