From the University of Birmingham in the UK to the countryside of western China, from the capital state-owned enterprises to the breeding of green-shelled laying hens in the mountains... After serving as the "first secretary" for two years, Peng Tao began to believe in and reach his deeds, showing the spiritual outlook of contemporary Chinese youth with heart, affection and force.

From the Letter: Showing the spiritual outlook of contemporary Chinese youth

In 2011, after graduating from Changsha, Hunan Province, Peng Tao went to the University of Birmingham to pursue a doctorate.

After that, he went to Shanghai and Beijing to work. Peng Tao, who works at China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd., learned that he could apply to stay in a village in western China, so he did not hesitate.

"I grew up in the capital city of China, I also had experience studying in the UK, and after graduating I worked in the Chinese capital, I had all kinds of experience, but I lacked experience in rural work." Many people think that Peng Tao's choice is "overkill", but he said, "No matter what position you are in, you are contributing to the country." Choosing to stay in the village, my experience will be richer. If I don't take this step, my life will be regretted. ”

In May 2021, China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd. assigned Peng Tao to serve as the first secretary of Chengzi Village, Chengtai Township, Ledu District, Haidong City, Qinghai Province.

But Peng Tao had never set foot in western China and knew little about the local customs.

"I grew up in the south, and it is true that there are big differences in climate, food and culture between the two places." When he arrived in Chengzi Village, Peng Tao said that fortunately, after poverty alleviation, the progress in all aspects of the village was obvious.

"But the gap with the city is still obvious." The dry toilet in the village made Peng Tao worry, "In winter, it is minus one or twenty degrees, and when I get up at night, I have to go from the dormitory to the dry toilet outside, and I have to do a long time of psychological construction." ”

"A trip to the toilet back and forth, the cold wind is biting," Peng Tao said with a wry smile, "originally the air oxygen content is low, the sleep is not good, after getting up at night, there is no sleep, and it is useless to take sleeping pills." ”

"Oh", "what", "two", "on"... At the time of the interview, Peng Tao, a Hunan concubine, had a Qinghai Ledu accent mixed in his Mandarin. Greeting the villagers, he speaks in dialect, even if it is not standard, but it is effortless to communicate with the villagers about planting, medical insurance and other things.

In addition to the change in accent, there are also a lot of gray hair that has emerged from his sideburns. In the eyes of many people, Peng Tao is definitely a "post-70s".

Peng Tao, who was born in 1989, said, "I will definitely not tell my family about gray hair." When you go back to your hometown from the village, you have to dye your hair, otherwise your parents will definitely feel distressed when they see it, but they will worry about it. ”

Despite all kinds of physical disobedience, as the first secretary, Peng Tao has never backed down, "We must keep our promises, otherwise we will give up, not only sorry for the trust of the organization, but also not the spiritual outlook of contemporary Chinese youth." ”

Da Yu Xing: Start with green-shelled layer hen farming

Chengzi Village is a Tibetan village, and although it is called "Cheng", it is actually located in the southern mountains of Ledu District. The mountains and ravines are deep, 57 households, 199 people, and the per capita arable land is less than one mu.

Family members, name, occupation, studies... When he first entered the village, Peng Tao conducted a thorough investigation step by step. But some villagers had awkward names and scattered lives, and Peng Tao took a map drawn by the previous resident secretary, "like memorizing English words, comparing the map, thinking about the names and appearance of the family members." ”

Seeing the children in the village, following his parents to play in the field during the summer vacation, without paying attention to learning methods and learning effects, he contacted a number of social welfare organizations and organized college students from Shandong University of Finance and Economics, Sichuan University of Foreign Chinese and other universities to lead nearly 50 children in Chengzi, Bakou, Shancheng and other villages to carry out summer volunteer teaching activities, consolidate basic knowledge for children, cultivate hobbies, and spend "colorful holidays".

Villager Yachojie has been studying Thangka in other places for more than ten years, and he has achieved small achievements. Peng Tao encouraged Yachojie to return to the village to start a business, not only to take care of his elderly parents, but also to establish the Yale Art Garden, in addition to engaging in traditional thangka painting, research and development of cultural and creative products. This year, Yale Art Garden won the first prize in the local "Rural Revitalization Cup" e-commerce entrepreneurship competition.

Walking into the village's green-shelled layer farm, nearly 1000,<> green-shell laying hens thrive. This is the village collective economic and industrial revitalization project promoted by Peng Tao.

Peng Tao, who has no experience in raising chickens, started from the site selection and construction of the farm, to the introduction of chicken seedlings, contacted Gansu enterprises to buy feed, and learned breeding technology, Peng Tao took the villagers to explore, "I am not sure that raising chickens will definitely succeed, so at first I did not mobilize every household to raise chickens." I want to let everyone see that raising chickens can make money through the village collective economy, and then attract every household to start raising chickens after demonstration. ”

"Next month, the chickens will be able to lay eggs, and I hope that the company's union will provide consumer help, and I hope to contact egg traders to sell locally." Peng Tao said.

Subsidize 1,52 jin of high-quality artichoke seeds, and help consumers buy garlic... Peng Tao also catches traditional planting industries such as garlic and artichoke in the village.

With the purchase of 10 agricultural machinery, such as rotary cultivators, wheeled tractors, hydraulic flip plows, and agricultural machinery loading vehicles, and the construction of a 150-square-meter agricultural machinery storage site, Peng Tao hopes to develop village-level agricultural machinery cooperatives, train agricultural machinery and tools, and then go out of the city village to drive the modernization and mechanization of agricultural equipment for villagers in the north and south of Ledu.

Peng Tao was also hired as the deputy secretary of the part-time Youth League Committee of Ledu District, led the village league branch to participate in the Qinghai Provincial Youth Volunteer Project Competition, experienced the preliminary round, preliminary round and semi-final, and successfully entered the final as the only representative of Haidong City.

Mobilize forces from all walks of life to donate rice flour oil, vegetable packs, books, school supplies and other materials, carry out dynamic monitoring to prevent poverty return, carry out full-coverage self-built house inspections, take family photos for villagers, revise village rules and regulations, and remotely carry out the June 1st Children's Day Online Carnival with the children of China Cinda employees... On the road to the village, Peng Tao took a firm step. (End)
